Unitrans Sugar and Agriculture maintains a large customer service footprint in southern and eastern Africa, extending from forestry contracts in the Western Cape, through the sugarcane growing and milling regions of KwaZulu-Natal, Swaziland and Mpumalanga, then across borders into Mozambique, Malawi and Tanzania.

Our customer profile includes corporate leaders in the sugar and timber industry, both in RSA and cross-border, and the greater RSA profile also comprises large private estates, commercial growers and small emerging growers.

Our range of agricultural logistics services has greatly expanded from the traditional haulage of sugarcane from trans-shipment zones on the farms to sugar mills. Driven by the constant need to trim input costs in the dynamic and challenging environment in which our sugar and timber customers operate, our agricultural engineers and ‘coal-face’ managers constantly pursue fresh haulage technology and new-age service initiatives. To complement our strive for innovation of our haulage systems, we aim, where relevant, to integrate our cane haulage services not only with the onward transport of sugar products from the mills, but also ‘backward’ into pre-planting agricultural services in and around the fields. By effectively partnering with our customers in this way, it exposes them to the benefits of the resultant economies of scale and a less complicated logistics portfolio.

Our Company Vision:

To be a customer-driven world-class service provider capable of providing total solutions throughout the agricultural industry.

Our Customer Vision:

To build productive relationships by getting closer to our customers and, by being flexible and innovative, to enable them to enjoy the economies of scale which broader utilisation of our infrastructure will allow.
